Leesa Chandler Designs
Leesa also has a brand new range of fabrics titled "Melba", "Melba" is Leesa Chandlers latest collection of rich decadent designs with an Australian flare. The inspiration for Melba comes from the 1920's, an era of elegance, class and style. Elements of the designs come from architecture, interior design and textiles from this era. You will also find particular design features from the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne, built in the 1880’s by Dame Nellie Melba’s father. The collection currently showcases two color stories. Nouveau, which features dusky pinks, rich burgundy, teal greens, ivory and sultry greys, all finely outlined in metallic silver. The Australis color story features rich burnt oranges, merlot, olive greens, set on a full black or soft cream background, and finely outlined in metallic gold.
These fabrics are also superior quality, designed by Leesa, they are printed by Robert Kaufman for the Textile Pantry and Made In Japan.
Leesa published her first pattern in 2004, and has published over 200 patterns for quilts, bags, clothing and home decor since then. Patterns are tested in house, independently by other quilters and more often than not Leesa will run them as workshops before release to ensure they are correct, easy to read and most importantly, fun!
